How are women presented in the movie Headhunters?


The movie Headhunters is a Norwegian action thriller and is about a businessman (Roger Brown) who has a double life. During the day he's a businessman and by night he's a specialist thief who steals the most expensive pieces of art and sells them to get money to by himself and his wife things. Half-way through we see his wife who is having an affair with another man who later on chases Roger until he is able to kill him, but it's the other way round towards the end. At the end of the movie we find out that Roger was not happy about himself(not believing in himself) and believes in himself at the end.


In the movie there are 3 different women: Diana, Lotte and Natasja.

Diana is Roger Brown's wife and she's an art gallery owner. After the start of the movie we see that she is quite demanding of Roger because wants to have a child and he seems to be ignoring that topic every time she mentions it.

Later on we see that she is seeing another man who goes by the name of Clas Greve.
When we see that she is seeing him, when then realise that it is because Roger is not able to meet her needs.

What she did not realise was that Roger was buying her all these things to keep her happy and so she would not leave him, but she was taking it for granted just because he would not give her a child.

At the end she helps him out by getting rid of Clas, which shows that she still loves Roger and she was able to have a child with him and they lived happily ever after.

Another woman called Lotte who is Roger's mistress appears to be calm and quite obsessed with him when he says to  her to leave him alone through a few scenes in the movie and near the end of the movie Roger go to her flat, injured and needing help after being chased. She seems like she is willing to help him until we realised that she wants to turn him into the company of the man who he's running away from (Clas) as she works for him.

Finally, there's Natasja a prostitute from Russia, who spent most of her time Roger's friend. We first see her when she is with his friend running around the house naked with his firing shots at each other. It seemed normal for her to be walking around naked even though women nowadays prefer to be covered up.

All three of the women seemed to be linked together in terms of the roles they play which are mainly sexual roles: Natasja is a prostitute and caters to the needs of Roger's friend who is a lonely old man and has no wife, Lotte is Roger's mistress so she's there to cater to his needs when his wife is not around him for she was seeing the other man and Diana is Roger's wife who is there to support him and help him when he is in trouble as well as becoming a mother to their future children.

At the beginning of the video, the screen is black and then the title of the video appears saying “welcome to the jungle”. From this I can picture a noisy and crazy atmosphere from the word jungle. From the word jungle I picture danger, unknown species and tribes.
