Drake - God's Plan

At the beginning of the video they state the budget that was to be spent during the video. When looking at Stuart Hall's Reception Theory about the way audiences interpret the codes placed in media products that have been produced by the producers, some people may agree that Drake is genuinely helping the people in the video (which are the preferred readers) although there are those who would think that stating the budget that was used in the video, would make it seem like the work being done is not genuine (oppositional readers). finally there are the negotiated readers who may agree that by donating money and items to the people is a good, charitable thing however seeing the budget and the credits at the beginning and end of the song may put them off for they may think the whole video was set up.

Then they use people of different ages from young to old in a deprived area of the United States, to show that there is poverty amongst people living in the States other than the Rich, famous Celebrities that are always shown in the spotlight.

By using Drake, who is a musician/celebrity, it will catch the viewers attention, by making them watch the video.

There is no use of editing or special effects, which will make the video seem realistic and genuine.

Scenes showing Drake meeting up with individuals and giving them large sums of money are incorporated within the video to show that he cares and is willing to help them and these people are mainly young people who are either educationally deprived or materially deprive, disabled people and old people.

At around 3 minutes of the video, the song was lowered so that the audience/viewers can hear the crowd and along with Drake singing in tune with each to the rest of the chorus. By doing this it shows that he's there to help those people and may not want the video to be focused on himself.

There are some scenes of Drake standing at the top of a building which gives connotations of him being God or a messenger of God, the people standing below are his people and from the title of the song, it's God's plan to help his people which is shown throughout the video by him giving presents and money to those people in that deprived area without being selfish and having to think twice about giving away those things.
At 5:03, there is a group of people standing outside what looks like a church with two different chapters from the Bible with their verses; St John 3:16 says,

"John 3:16-17 King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
This links in with the religious connotations of Drake being a messenger of God and is going about helping people that are in need of help.
